After wasting money on a new battery and new charger from Dell and tearing my hair out trying to get my daughter's laptop to charge, thanks to your overview and advice, I was able to fix it and breathe a bit more life into it.Quality Price
We live in France and the board arrived in record time.
Great price, too, this is certainly no rip-off.
Without people like you who bother to offer excellent worldwide service even on a small part, this laptop was most certainly doomed. Shame on Dell!
With sincere thanks - MERCI!

I had the problem of my laptop saying " plugged in,not charging ".I did my research and tried replacing the battery first (*****) because the case had bubbled at one end.It didn't fix it so next, after doing more research,i went to a PC shop and asked them if i could try one of their DC Power cords....didn't fix it,back to the research board!Only left two more areas....mother board or DC power board.I had looked on ****** and found some cheap ones starting around ****** but you get what you pay for. Then a came across this site, read the reviews and jumped in with both feet.Well i am happy to say it worked. You tube has a great video on how to change it out.I have never opened up any computer but i am not afraid to try anything if i am trying to save money. I was thankfully able to fix my Dells charging problem this part. I'm a broke college student and I have never taken a computer apart before so it was a little nerve wracking but its back together and is working good. I would suggest that you have a decent set of screwdrivers on hand for the repair though. i only had giant Phillips head that did not fit in the holes in the bottom of the case. I bought a cheapo set at dollar tree for $1 and they worked though. If i need parts in the future i would not hesitate to buy again. I had replaced my old power board with this replacement. I will say the quality is WAY better than my old one. Better built. However, to my disappointment, it did not fix my "Plugged in not charging" issue on my Inspiron 1525. I hope others will have better luck. Never again DELL!Quality Price
**Staff Response**
I am very sorry to hear that! I would definitely suggest testing the machine with a known working A/C adapter after the replacement. In rare cases the Power Board fails, and takes the authentication mechanism inside the charger out as well (DS2501 Chip). This causes the machine to exhibit the same symptoms, as the motherboard cannot authenticate with the charger, and will refuse to charge the battery. It is generally best to replace both components at the same time, or have access to a known working A/C adapter at the time of repair. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot us an e-mail! - I've been trying to figure out what was wrong with my laptop for about a month now. It worked great when plugged in, but wouldn't charge. This board worked great, and thanks for emailing me the service manual! (Posted on 2/7/11)
